Covid-19, one of the most talked about disease in all of news. The epidemic that began at Wuhan has now practically spread all across the globe.

With the outbreak spreading fear amongst the people, certainly there shall be a few unruly, bored and sadistic people with no conscience spreading myths and rumors on how it spreads and dramatically explaining the symptoms.

Enough of this.

Here the 3 ridiculous myths we’re going to breakdown and debunk.

Myth #1: Pets can catch and spread the coronavirus

A company that produces breathing masks for dogs told Fox Business that customers have been buying its products in droves in places where the coronavirus has been confirmed in recent weeks.

There are even pictures of dogs wearing the masks in public.

However, Dr. Gregory Poland, a virus expert and head of the Vaccine Research Group at the Mayo Clinic says “You’re not going to get a dangerous human coronavirus from Fido.”

“It’s true that dogs, cats, and most species carry their own kinds of coronavirus, but those are not human pathogens.”

Myth #2: Drinking Miracle Mineral Solution will protect you from the coronavirus

Ok this sounds way too simple. It’s hard to believe anyone would fall for this without any scientific authority verifying this.

Dr. Andres Romero, infectious disease specialist at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif, says “Drinking a strange beverage will not prevent you from acquiring the infection.”

According to Dr. Poland, he says “You will end up with esophageal pathology if you drink diluted bleach. The way this virus infects you is in your respiratory cells, not your gastrointestinal system”

So NO, this will not protect you from the coronavirus.

Myth #3: Antibiotics can prevent or treat the new coronavirus

Antibiotics don’t work this way. Only specific antibiotics work on specific bacterial infections.

It doesn’t even help with viruses, the cause of actual disease.

In conclusion, washing your hands frequently, not touching your face, and covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze is the only full proof step you can take to prevent the spread or catching the Covid-19.
